Public’s Response to LAHousingSearch.Org Proves To Be Huge Success

Baton Rouge, La. (Feb. 8, 2007) – Since the activation of LAHousingSearch.org,
citizens have conducted over 17,000 searches for rental properties.

This free online housing resource allows property owners to list available units, which
can then be searched for free by individuals interested in renting an apartment or home.
The service is designed to provide tenants with specific, up-to-date housing information.
To date, this user-friendly service has an inventory of over 6,200 units with over 600
properties available for move-in. The website is also supported by a toll-free number and
call center.

Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco's office coordinated a collaborative effort with the
Louisiana Housing Finance Agency, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and
Louisiana Recovery Authority to sponsor this online service.

"I am pleased to announce this resource for Louisiana residents and property owners.
Matching the demands for affordable housing with those who are offering it is a vital tool
in our recovery efforts," said Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. "I am urging property
owners to register on the system which will serve as the state's primary housing search
resource."

LAHousingSearch.org gives Louisiana landlords 24-hour access to manage and update
their property listings. Properties up to 150% of HUD Fair Market Rental can be listed, a
ceiling that would encompass about 85% of the statewide rental market. The site is easy
to navigate and provides thorough information on available units. Property listings allow
owners to highlight amenities and special features and include photos of available
properties.

If you are interested in listing or locating a property, please visit www.LAHousingSearch.org
or call toll-free 877.428.8844.

The Louisiana Housing Finance Agency (LHFA) was created by the Louisiana Legislature to
address the shortage of safe and affordable housing in Louisiana. Since 1980, LHFA has
administered federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy efficient and affordable housing for low and moderate income families. Post-Katrina, LHFA has been a viable resource in the development of rental properties and housing finance
opportunities for Louisiana residents.
