Charlotte, NC (October 2009) – ESRI, a national GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software provider, awarded $10,000 to help develop the Socialserve.com Housing Data Division.
Socialserve.com has been gathering and managing housing data since its founding in 1999. Through an elaborate, proprietary combination of technology and human supervision, Socialserve.com maintains an unparalleled, up-to-date and accurate database of rental housing information in 27 states. Analyst Benjamin Baldwin, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), is working with Socialserve.com to establish an outlet for an immense range of rental housing data to further assist communities across the nation in their goals to develop and preserve affordable housing.
Socialserve.com is uniquely positioned to provide guidance to housing agencies in evaluations of community housing needs, offering key insight into the geographic characteristics of affordable rental housing markets. Web search statistics from Socialserve.com provide detailed information on the specific data in the context of a community's demographic, employment, and land-use characteristics.
"Our Housing Data Division is producing incredible map-based data analysis for our partners," said Socialserve.com CEO Van Gottel. "I'm glad to see our partners using the vast amount of data we collect and maintain to make more informed decisions around housing location, policy and use."
